Lee started playing professionally at 15 years of age. He then received a masters degree in composition from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. For many years Lee has written advertising jingles for the Texas region. Among his hits are the “Greensheet Brings You Buyers”, “You’ll Really See a Difference At TSO” and the Original “Eat At Joe’s” for Joes Crab Shack. In addition to the trio and jingles, Lee teaches Guitar, Bass and Keyboards at the Percussion Center.
Mike
Henry—Drums
As a teenager working in a Los Angeles drum shop, Mike
was exposed to the likes of Buddy Rich, Joe Raynor and Chico Hamilton.
It is in this tradition that Mike’s drumming style has
followed. In addition to being an excellent player, Mike is a well
known
entrepreneur as well. As co-owner of the Percussion Center for over 15
years, Mike has built the largest store in the Houston area dedicated
to Drums and Percussion.
John McBride
– Bass
John cut his
teeth playing jazz in New Orleans while earning a B.M. in Jazz
performance from Loyola University. He then went on to earn a PhD in
mathematics. Currently he devises the formulas that airlines use to
determine air fares—so be nice to him.
